PRE-SCHOOL TEACHING


Profile of the Program

The aim of program is to educate students as highly motivated, socially responsible teachers who have the ability to deal with students and educational issues with knowledge and creativity. Graduates of this program will be contributing to early childhood education, youth and in the long run to society.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Education

Level of Qualification

This is a Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Student admission for this undergraduate program is made through university entrance examinations (YGS-LYS) prepared in the framework of the regulations set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). International students are accepted to this undergraduate program according to the score of one of the international exams they take such as SAT,ACT etc. or according to their high school diploma score. Exchange student admission is made according to the requirements determined by bilateral agreements signed by BAU and the partner university. Visiting students can enroll for the courses offered in this program upon the confirmation of the related academic unit. Additionally, they need to prove their English language level since the medium of instruction atBAU is English.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students graduating from this programme awarded Bachelor's of Arts degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of undergraduate program in Early Childhood education can be recruited within foundations and institutions such as ministries, universities, schools, kindergartens both in public and private sector.

Access to Further Studies

The students graduating from this program may apply to second cycle (Master's degree) programmes

Program Outcomes

1 Analyze and demonstrate knowledge of concepts, ideas, applications in early childhood education and to be able to evaluate them critically.
2 To understand and know the developmental and learning capacities of 0-66 month old children and to reflect these to their education process.
3 Implementation of the subject matter, pedagogical and professional knowledge necessary for early childhood education.
4 Create teaching potential for 0-66 months old children regarding their multidimensional developmental process including skills and attitudes and behavior applicable to life.
5 To know how to develop, apply and evaluate learning mediums with sıitable education programs, teaching approach and methods and techniques which is flexible for each individual child .
6 To know and apply the necessary measurement and assessmant techniques suitable for early childhood educaton.
7 To develop and apply projects that supports children, families and individuals in the community and contributing positively to their developmental process.
8 To integrate the knowledge and experience of working together with different programs and different age groups.
9 To demonstrate the commitment to early childhood profession, professionalism,life-long learning and professional growth.
10 To cooperate and collaborate with other individuals and community to bring awareness about early childhood education to society.
11 To be able to recognize problems in early childhood education, to bring scientifically acceptable solutions to these problems and participate effectively in projects leading to such solutions.
12 Demonstrate knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies related to early childhood education and act accordingly.
13 To demonstrate commitment to societial,scientific and professional values.
14 To recognize and respect different cultures and to be sensitive to individual and cultural differences.
15 To demonstrate competence and ethical approach in information and communication technologies.
16 To demonstrate English profiency in communicating, knowledge sharing and professional development areas of early childhood education.
