The emphasis on this course is to introduce theory and practice of teaching young children English. The course will have the students engage in various activities that promote langauge acquisition which are specifically designed for young learners. Some of these activities will include songs, chants, poetry, rhymes, fingerplays and story telling. We will also be discussing various approaches to teaching language within a meaningful context. Students will be sharing a variety of techniques for making language input comprehensible and encouraging risk taking for langauge development. |
