Course Objectives: To learn the necessary rules for the healthy life of the mother and the child, to know how to prevent childhood diseases and protection from them, and what to do in an emergency

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this course teacher candidates will have the ability of;
1. Describing the factors that can affect the mother and child in terms of health
2. Having knowledge about what can be done in case of accident
3. Having knowledge about child diseases and physical development of children
4. Having knowledge about family planning and the problems women face
5. Having information about what the first aid needs are and what interventions can be implemented

Course Content

This course contains the definition of child health; the state of child health in our country and in the world; child development in mother's womb; the effects of diseases and accidents in pregnancy on the development of the child; Physical development (dental, height, weight) of children aged 0-8, pediatric diseases seen in 0-8 year old children (diarrhea and respiratory infections, immunization and rashes, parasites, infections etc); vaccines; health problems according to women's life periods; family planning; fracture-dislocation, burning, injury, insect insertion, poisoning, foreign body swallowing etc. the first aid teacher should do in situations.

1) Introduction to child health, definition, importance, situation of child health in our country and in the world Development of baby during pregnancy period, factors affecting baby health
2) Risk factors related to birth and birth, family planning Newborn and its features, evaluation, newborn problems, congenital anomalies
3) Baby, child care and nutrition
4) Physical development and physical evaluation in early childhood
5) Common respiratory, urinary and digestive system infections and protection in children
6) Çocuklarda sık görülen solunum yolu, idrar yolu ve sindirim sistemi enfeksiyonları ve korunma
7) Immunization and vaccines
8) Midterm
9) Basic concepts and applications related to first aid, human body, functioning and life findings The patient and the injury, the site of the incident and the first aid ABC
10) First aid in basic life support and respiratory tract obstruction
11) First aid in bleeding, injury, fracture, dislocation and sprain
12) First aid in unconsciousness, fever and asthma
13) First aid in poisoning, animal stings and bites
14) First aid in the event of blood loss, hot strikes, burns, freezing and drowning
