Course Objectives: | Recognize basic concepts of psychology, principles and theories of psychology, to undestand biological, cognitive and social basis of humans' thought and behavior system. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; 1. Recognize basic concepts related to psychology 2. Express basic theoratical approaches 3. Comprehent theories related to basic concepts of psychology (emotion and perception, sleep and dream, development and learning, memory, motivation, intelligence, personality, behavioral disorders) 4. Doing research in library and internet 5. Critical and analytic thinking |
Definition of psychology, history of psychology, different areas of psychology (social psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology etc.), theories of psychology (behavioral theories, cognitive theories, existential theory etc.), biological bases of psychology, intelligence, perception, memory, personality theories, behavioral disorders, motivation, emotion, defence mechanism. |
