NURSING (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

The aim of the Nursing program is to educate nurses who have knowledge of health sciences main topics and knowledge, skill and attitude of health prevention, promotion, treatment and rehabilitation toward health needs of the community.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Nursing

Level of Qualification

This is a Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Student admission for this undergraduate program is made through university entrance examinations (YGS-LYS) prepared in the framework of the regulations set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). International students are accepted to this undergraduate program according to the score of one of the international exams they take such as SAT,ACT etc. or according to their high school diploma score. Exchange student admission is made according to the requirements determined by bilateral agreements signed by BAU and the partner university. Visiting students can enroll for the courses offered in this program upon the confirmation of the related academic unit.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students graduating from this programme are awarded Bachelor's of Nursing degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning

At Bahcesehir University , full-time students can be exempted from some courses within the framework of the related by laws. If the content of the course previously taken in another institution is equivalent to the course offered at BAU, then the student can be exempted from this course with the approval of the related faculty/graduate school after the evaluation of the course content.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of undergraduate program in Nursing can be recruited within hospitals, public health centers, schools, industrial organisations, mental health centers, rehabilitation centers, home care centers, terminal term care centers, emergency care centers.

Access to Further Studies

The students graduating from this program may apply to second cycle (Master's degree) programmes.

Program Outcomes

1 To plan and assess nursing care within a holistic approach, in accordance with theoretical and evidence-based practices.
2 To act in accordance with ethical principles and values in Nursing practices.
3 To use life-long learning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
4 To use Nursing models/theories in health promotion, protection and care.
5 To take part in research, projects and activities within sense of social responsibility and interdisciplinary approach.
6 To have skills for training and consulting according to health education needs of individual, family and the community.
7 To be sensitive to health problems of the community and and to able to offer solutions.
8 To be able to use interpersonal and intercultural communication skills effectively in Nursing pratices.
9 To be able to use healthcare/information technologies in Nursing practice and research.
10 To be able to search for literature in health sciences databases and information sources to access to information and use the information effectively.
11 To be able to monitor occupational information using at least one foreign language, to collaborate and communicate with colleagues at international level.
12 To take responsibility and lead in events in order to contribute to health services and Nursing profession.
