Course Objectives: This course provides students with the ability to take and interpret a health history, to know and apply physical examination methods, to know the system evaluation from head to toe, to detect abnormal conditions and to make clinical decisions, to evaluate vital signs and to interpret the results obtained, to know, evaluate and interpret symptoms that are signs of disease, It aims to gain the knowledge and skills to evaluate individuals and detect abnormal situations.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this lesson:
1. Take the health history and interpret it,
2. Makes ethnic and cultural evaluations in the evaluation of health;
3. Knows physical examination methods;
4. Evaluates vital signs and interprets abnormal conditions;
5. Knows, evaluates and interprets the symptoms that are signs of the disease;
6. Knows the liquid electrolyte, acid-base balance and knows and interprets the situations where this balance is disturbed;
7. Knows the head-to-toe system evaluation and detects and interprets abnormal situations;
8. Evaluates the elderly individual, knows the variables, and detects and interprets abnormal situations.

Course Content

Introduction to assessment of health, obtaining the medical history, physical examination, vital signs, health perceptions and health management, evaluation of nutrition and metabolism, evaluation of skin, evaluation of activity and exercise, evaluation of the musculoskeletal system, evaluation of the respiratory system, evaluation of the heart and circulation system, evaluation of the urinary system and abdominal examination, evaluation of the senses and perceptions, evaluation of sleep and rest activity.
