Course Objectives: Objectives of this course are to introduce the basic concepts and theories of Public Health Nursing, health care systems, global and national public health policies, health promotion and protection of individuals, family and community, management of global public health issues, and to enable students to gain knowledge and skills for health education, consulting services and public health practices.

The students who have succeeded in this course will be able to;
1. Incorporate the basic concepts and theories in public health with public health nursing practices.
2. Define and list the basic health care services and public health policies.
3. Take roles and responsibilities in accordance with public needs for health promotion and protection.
4. Take part in the implementation of health education programs and counseling programs.
5 Display skills for health prevention and promotion for healthy lifestyles.
6. Reflect the skills for family health, maternal and child health, adult health, elderly health, school health and occupational health into practice.
7. Collaborate with other health care professionals for meeting the health needs of individuals, families and community groups.

Course Content

This course covers the basic concepts of basic health care services, public health policies, health protection and health promotion, and knowledge and skills for fulfilling nursing roles and functions in specialized practice areas of public health (maternal and child health, school health, occupational health, elderly health, mental health and home care, environmental health).
