Course Objectives: | Objectives of this course are to introduce the knowledge and develop students’ skills for providing comprehensive nursing care in health prevention and promotion, deterioration of health status and rehabilitation of individuals, families, and communities, and to introduce nursing philology, nursing roles and responsibilities. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: 1. To know and summarize the historical development and nature of nursing 2. Defining the importance, role and responsibilities of the nurse in the health care system 3. Defining basic concepts such as human, environment, health, disease, nursing and ethics 4. To know nursing models/theories in health care practices 5. Ability to identify maintenance-related problems 6. Communicate effectively with the individual, their family, and healthcare team members 7. To measure vital signs accurately and to know their normal values. |
The course covers the topics related to nature of nursing profession, nursing in health care system, nurses’ roles and responsibilities, basic concepts in nursing, nursing models and theories, the basic principles and concepts of nursing philosophy, effective interpersonal communication and interaction skills, developing skills for health promotion and disease prevention of individuals, families and communities, and using a nursing model for the care of ill individuals. |
