Profile of the Program

BAU Undergraduate Dentistry Program is a program designed by matching TYYÇ Undergraduate Level Health Field Undergraduate Qualifications with the Dentistry Education Core Education Program (DUÇEP-2016) qualifications to ensure that the student reaches the qualifications specified when the program exits.The education program consists of two stages as Preclinical Dentistry and Clinical Dentistry Education.The horizontal and vertical integration of stages are arranged in a spiral structure.The education program consists of 218 ECTS (72.66%) compulsory courses, 44 ECTS (14.67%) in-field elective courses, and 38 ECTS (12.67%) non-field and general elective courses.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Associate of LİSANS

Level of Qualification

This is a Bachelor’s Degree (First Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to be accepted to this program, it is necessary to complete a high school or equivalent education, get a diploma, and get enough points in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS).Students are accepted to the program according to the numerical score type and the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education.International Students are accepted within the framework of the success criteria determined by the Senate.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive an Integrated Master's (Dentariae Medicinae Doctor) in dentistry. Students who have successfully completed all the courses in the five-year dentistry curriculum and earned 300 ECTS credits graduate with the title of dentist.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Admission and registration of students who wish to transfer from other universities Faculty of Dentistry to Bahçeşehir University are determined according to the quota and requirements determined within the framework of certain regulations. The student may be exempt from this course if the content of the course taken is in accordance with the content of the course offered at BAU and has been approved by the appropriate academic dean.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

After graduating from the Faculty of Dentistry, a student may work as a private dentist or in the public sector. They can work in all hospitals, oral-dental health centers and polyclinics of the Ministry of Health. They can work as private dentists in their own offices or set up polyclinics with their colleagues. They can work as continued dentists in private hospitals, oral and dental health centers, and polyclinics. After graduation, students can pursue academic careers at both public and private universities. Faculty of Dentistry graduates may pursue a Doctoral degree in dentistry and basic medical sciences or specialization in dentistry. Graduates may also attend the specialization exam in dentistry (DUS), which is administered once a year by the Student Selection and Placement Center OSYM, they are accepted to specialization training and start their specialization training according to their success. Graduates who wish to pursue a Ph.D. may apply to clinical dentistry doctoral programs at dental schools and fundamental medical sciences doctoral programs in medical schools at state or foundation universities. Those who successfully complete the assessment begin their doctoral education.

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in graduate programs.
