Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach introduction to pharmacology, pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics, systems pharmacology and pharmacological properties of the most commonly used drugs in dentistry.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of this lecture the student will be able to:

1. Questions the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs.
2. Predicts drug toxicities and drug abuse.
3. Summarizes analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
4. Summarizes antibiotics and the other chemotherapeutics.
5. Summarizes general anesthetics and local anesthetics.
6. Summarizes cardiovascular pharmacology.
7. Understands how important pharmacology knowledge in dental practice and can interpret interactions and adverse drug reactions.
8. Understands the basic prescription writing skills.
