Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach various cavity preparations, application of different base materials, placement and manipulation of amalgam in the cavity, use of wedge and matrix systems, finishing and polishing of restorations, and complex amalgam cavities.

Learning Outputs

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to do the following;

1-Preparation of Black I and Modified Black I cavities,
2-Preparation of Black II cavities,
3-Preparation of Black V and Black VI cavities,
4-Getting to know different base materials and placing them in the cavity,
5-Placing amalgam in different cavity types,
6-Wedge and matrix application,
7-Getting to know complex amalgam cavities and to do their preparations,
8-Performing the finishing and polishing procedures of the restorations.

Cavity preparations, applying base materials, amalgam restorations and finishing-polishing processes taught face to face in preclinical and phantom laboratories

13) 15 (DO): Cavity Preparation + Conventional Glass Ionomer Placement + Amalgam Placement 37 (Class V): Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement Placement + Amalgam Placement
14) Complex Amalgam Cavity Preparations
15) Finishing and Polishing of Amalgam Restorations (Finishing and polishing of all restorations)
