Course Objectives: | This course provides a general introduction to International Relations (IR) studies. It covers the conceptual tools, historical development and basic theoretical approaches of IR. Central concepts such as power, security, sovereignty, conflict, war, peace, cooperation, globalization, etc. are deeply examined. Current international issues are explored and discussed within the general framework of key theoretical approaches and empirical knowledge based on relevant case studies. |
Course Content: | The emergence and development of the international system; concepts and theoretical approaches of IR; issues of war and peace; changing actors and institutions; globalization and current issues. |
