Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course; to define and classify tooth caries, to teach the reasons of caries, to perform cavity preparations in the correct working position; recognizing adhesive restorative materials and procedures, distinguishing, and treating non-carious cervical lesions, and explaining the approach to dentin hypersensitivity
Course Content: Causes of dental caries, cavity principles, restorative materials and tooth sensitivity explained theoretically with case photographs and x-rays

1) Basic Concepts in Adhesive Cavity Preparations, Class III Cavity Preparations, III, IV and V. Preparations, Anterior Composite Cavities
2) Class I, II Preparations Posterior Composite Cavities, Minimally İnvasive Cavity Preparations and Restorative Approaches in Minimally İnvasive Dentistry
3) Procedures to be Done Before Starting the Restorative Treatments; Ergonomics and Isolation (cotton roll ect), Biological Solubilization (demineralization), remineralization
4) Caries Theories and Classification, Caries Formation
5) The Relationship Between Caries and Cariogenic Bacterial Plaque, Saliva, The Relationship Between Caries and Microorganism and Caries and Nutrition
6) Secondary Factors Affecting Dental Caries and the Relationship Between Systemic Diseases and Dental Caries
7) Enamel, Dentin and Cement Caries
8) Clinical Features of Dental Caries Determination and Evaluation of DMFT and DMFS İndices
9) Caries Diagnostic Methods
10) Dental Adhesion, Adhesive Systems and Their Classification
