MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION AND SECRETARIAL (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

The aim of the program is to train health personnels who are qualified, and have developed a sound communication and responsibility sense at patient registrations, treatment records, implementation of discharge and related filing activities; and collect, order and present to the researchers the findings gathered from various scientific research papers of medicine and health technologies at public and private health institutions and organizations.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Tıbbi Sekreter

Level of Qualification

This is a Associate (Short Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted through the YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Upon successful completion along with the qualifications of the program, (the 5th level) Associate degree is given in the field of Medical Secretariat and Documentation.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who are selected by Student Selection and Placement center and who complete their admition process are eligible to attend the school.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The graduates work as "Medical Secretary" in public and private health institutions and organizations. Employment fields are polyclinics and clinics data processing services, patient register and admission offices, human resources and statistics units of public and private with/without beds health institutions and organizations under the Health Ministry.

Access to Further Studies

Medical Documentation and Secretarial program students may apply to Management, Health Administration, Health Care Management, Health Management and Health Institutions Administration undergraduate programs via external transfer exam (DGS).

Program Outcomes

1 Write and pronounce the correct terms used in the field of medicine properly.
2 Compile data related to medical statistics and reports the results analyzing bu scientific methods periodically.
3 Communicate with relevant authorities verbally and in writing between inner and outer organization
4 Continuously improve their professional knowledge and skills.
5 Solve the problems faced in business life in a guick and effective way.
6 Uses Turkish language and body language effectively.
