Profile of the Program

IT program provides a high quality educational opportunity with its dynamic and modular structure to those new graduates with an undergraduate degree on any area and those who yet work in IT related fields but want to gain an added value with an academically strengthened specialization. The program provides curriculum modules on five different IT related specialization areas; Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems, Networks and System Administration, Software Technologies and Computer based Education Technologies, to those coming from different backgrounds so that the students could have the opportunity to combine academic formation with various contemporary technological developments such as software, project, product development, IT management, IT hardware and software support, network management, business intelligence, distance learning and e-learning.

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to apply for a master's program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and meet other basic program-specific requirements to be determined by the Institute Board. In addition, students applying to thesis programs must have an ALES score of no less than 55 points, as determined by the Institute Board in the score type they are applying for. The foreign language proficiency levels of candidates applying to master's programs conducted in a foreign language are determined according to the results of central foreign language exams accepted by YÖK, international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by YÖK or ÖSYM, or the University English Proficiency Exam.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The students studying in this undergraduate program are required to have a Cumulative Grade Points Average (Cum.GPA) of not less than 3.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses with at least a letter grade of C/S in the program in order to graduate. The minimum number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 120. It is also mandatory for the students to complete their compulsory Master Thesis Research and Master Thesis in a specified duration and quality.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who will continue their education at Bahçeşehir University may be exempted from the courses they took at their previous educational institution within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken is compatible with the content of the course given at BAU and is approved by the institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this course.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of Information Technologies Graduate Program may be primarily employed in nearly every function related with the operation of informatics sector, mainly in the topics of software development, database programming, network management, operating systems management, web programming and software design and analysis. In addition, the graduates have high skills about business intelligence in terms of collecting, analyzing, processing data and producing useful information through that data. The graduates related to the educational technologies field have great expertise about applying the information technologies to the education system.

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in doctoral programs.
