Course Objectives: | The aim of this course is to enable students to fully understand the sustainability concept which has a direct impact on the efficiency of a company, and to fully understand the opportunities and threats in terms of sustainability. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to 1. Understands the concept of sustainability. 2. Knows the important criteria for sustainability of firms. 3. Understand the existing declarations, certificates and standards related to sustainability. 4. Analyze the critical points of a company's value chain in terms of water, raw materials, energy and waste. 5. Analyze the critical issues of a company’s social impact and responsibility. 6. To be able to analyze relevant concepts which are known today. |
Sustainable Management is a system-based and multi-disciplinary approach that tries to understand the relationship between the company and human / nature. Nowadays, it is accepted that the sustainability approach of the business world has an impact on productivity rather than external social impact activities. In Sustainable Management, while sustainability will be discussed in a coherent way, a special focus will be given to business related environmental sustainability. |
