Course Objectives: | This course aims to investigate traditional Turkish arts within a perspective of contemporary Western art and design, to explore the influences of traditional arts modern artists, in comparison with Eastern Asia, Middle East and Africa. |
Course Content: | Course is structured as two periods. At the first period, students are informed on traditional forms of Turkish art. Second period focuses on the use of traditional motives, materials, techniques or style in modern artwork and design artifacts. |
