Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to learn the basics of biochemistry, and to learn about the biochemical approaches of dentistry applications at the molecular level.
Course Content: Introduction to biochemistry, acids, bases, buffers, amino acids and proteins, enzymes, hemoglobin, plasma proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, vitamins and coenzymes, nucleic acids, minerals, hormones, digestion and absorption, amino acid and protein metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, Krebs cycle and electron transport system, pentose phosphate pathway, glycogen metabolism, lipid metabolism, fatty acids, triglyceride and phospholipid metabolism, cholesterol metabolism, lipoproteins, connective tissue biochemistry, biochemistry of body fluids, biochemistry of tooth, cartilage and bone tissue, calcium, phosphate, vitamin D metabolism and diseases, acid-base balance
