Course Objectives:

The aim of this course is to teach; structural features of the tooth, cavity preparation techniques, different types of cavity preparations, rotary instruments used in cavity preparations, burs and hand instruments used in amalgam restoration, ergonomic working principles, detection and removal of caries, cavity disinfectants, treatments for the preservation of pulp vitality, base materials for pulp protection, amalgam material, creating correct contact and contour during amalgam restoration, basic and current matrix-wedge applications, finishing and polishing processes, complex amalgam restorations, and amalgam biocompatibility.

Enamel, dentin and pulp, cavity principles, instruments used in cavity, pulp protective materials and amalgam restorations, ergonomic working principles
