Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: • Geotechnical applications using principals of soil mechanics
• Understanding the soil exploration and soil characterization methods for the
design
• Understanding the calculation of bearing capacity and settlement analysis
for shallow and deep foundations
• Understanding analysis and design of earth retaining structures
• Overview of recent developments regarding the behavior of natural soil deposits
• Overview of case studies and benchmark geotechnical applications
Course Content: Application of soil mechanics to design of foundations.
Methods for site classification and soil exploration.
Allowable bearing capacity and settlements for shallow and deep foundations. Design of earth retaining structures.
