Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives:

Students will identify and trace the development of English literature from the beginnings till the 17th century.Throughout the semester, they will learn to read literary texts closely and critically. They will learn to analyze the texts they read within the given historical context. They will also learn to read, understand, and critique analytical literary essays as well as recognize and assess the elements of different poetic genres.

Course Content:

Literary texts written in the Old English
period, Middle English period, 14th, 15th, 16th
and 17th century.
