Course Objectives: | It is to understand and analyse the United Nation's 2030 marine sustainability goals under the context of International Maritime Law and global warming. |
Course Content: | Starting from global warming and Arctic marine governance, it is to establish what are the legal tools that are used to protect the oceans (biodiversity and ecosystem services) and meet the UN 2030 sustainable development goas. In this context, we will review the powers given to the coastal states, international organizations, and regional bodies to govern the oceans that are being increasingly exploited by the multiple stakeholders, such as shipping and energy companies. |
