Course Objectives:

The course will further explore the evolution of relations between Turkey and the European Union, as well as between Turkey and Germany as the relevant local example of a European Union member state. The course will also aim at providing insight on Turkish-European relations from the Turkish side, by including a lecture/discussion with a Turkish expert and/or government representative on EU relations.

Course Content:

This course will focus on the development of the European Community/Union, as well as on relations between Turkey and Europe since 1945. It will explore the genesis of the European Union, its structure and evolution, and its impact and role both within and outside of Europe.
