LOGISTICS (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

This program aims to train individuals who are equipped with the required knowledge and skills needed by all branches of logistics and individuals who can organise and manage supply chain process.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Logistics

Level of Qualification

This is a Associate (Short Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

Bahcesehir University Vocational School accepts students by OSYM Central Placement Examination in the frame of YOK regulations. In Central Placement, the candidates are placed to this program according to their YGS points, their university program preferences and the programs’ quotas and requirements by OSYM.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to graduate from the program, students have to get a General Avarage of 2.00 out of 4.00 and get a minumum of D grade for all courses offered at the program. Maximum ECTS credits to graduate is 120. Students have to complete their internship as required in a given period of time.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of Bahcesehir University, can be exempt from some courses according to the regulations. The content of the courses taken at a different university must overlap with the courses given at Bahcesehir University; and the student is exempted only if this is approved by Faculty/ College/ Instution.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of this program have the opportunity to work at service providing companies; logistics, procurement, production and marketing departments of manufacturing companies, as well as procurement and distribution departments of retail companies. They can work as mediators between companies, they can be consultants, they can start their own business as the free enterpreneurs of the market.

Access to Further Studies

Transfer to Bachelor Degree is determined by the Law in Offical Newpaper Dated 02.19.2002 and Numbered 24676. According to the regulation for the continuation of graduates of vocational schools to Bachelor Degree and principles that the council of Higher Education determined, vertical transfer exam and placement of graduates of vocational school students to bachelor degree is executed by ÖSYM. Students who graduated from Logistics Program can make the vertical transfer to bachelor degree to enhance their training to upper level.

1 To have knowledge about logistics operations and the basic legislation
2 To have knowledge about the politics, corporations and the developments in logistics.
3 To have knowledge about the economical life and the basic features of the enterprises that take place in logistics sector.
4 To have knowledge about the documents that are used in logistics and how to prepare them.
5 To have knowledge about the new marketing and sales techniques and the principles of opening to new markets.
6 To have knowledge and consciousness about the job security, worker health and environment protection in logistics sector.
7 To have knowledge and consciousness about the basic legal attainments, social responsibility, ethics and social security rights in logistics.
8 To be involved in communication network in logistics sector and follow the developments.
9 To have the ability to comment and evaluate the classical and current theories by taking into account the developments in logistics and supply chain areas.
10 To have the basic knowledge about foreign trade and customs legislation.
11 To have knowledge about relationship between foreign trade and logistics management.
12 To have basic knowledge in at least one foreign language.
13 He/she can use information and communication tecnologies that necessary for their area, follows technological change and applies new technologies to business system.
