Course Objectives: This course aims to provide introductory and the basic knowledge about digital media usage. It has also practical aim as giving students the computer skills including using photo editing, audio-visual editing, and recording software, multimedia design, and digital methods of creating digital media such as painting programs, digital image editing, and time-based authoring programs.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
- The students will explore the ways of constructing types of digital media
- The students will consider the aesthetic, technical, and social effects of this work.
- The students will attain written, oral and visual knowledge about technical equipment and software used in the process of news production in new media.
- The critiques of student works, readings and discussions will provide to examine the evolving formal criteria and social implications of this work.

Course Content

Digital media have led to new methods of communications that affect how we work, play and see both ourselves and our environment. Thus, this course is developed to give students basic knowledge on digital media explaining issues such as how this technology has transformed the way for finding and producing information and media content, and what opportunities it provides for journalists and other media professionals.
