Course Objectives: The goal of this course is to teach the students the various reflections of mass communication theories in contemporary world and make them improve their knowledge how it has been benefited from mass communication both at the past and today. Another goal of this course is to gain the students the ability of conduction a the theoretical backgroung of conducting a real-time mass communication research.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
I. To know the fundamental concepts of various mass communication theories.
II. To differentiate between the various philosophers according to their systems of thought.
III.To know about the differences and similarities of the thought systems of various philosophers.
IV.To know about the history of mass communication reseach and theory.
V.To synthesize about how to apply a mass communication theory to a mass communication research.

Course Content

In this course, the students will learn about how can be benefited of various mass communication theories when designing a mass communication research. Hence the publications and ideas of various philosophers such as Marshall McLuhan, Neil Postman will be analized in this context.
