Course Objectives: Bu derste, öğrenciler CSR girişimlerinin kurumsal stratejiyle nasıl uyumlu hale geldiğini ve sürdürülebilir iş uygulamalarına nasıl katkıda bulunduğunu değerlendirmeyi öğrenecekler. Bu ders, öğrencilere, kuruluşların odaklarını hissedarlara hizmet etmekten, firmanın faaliyetlerinin çeşitli paydaşlar üzerindeki etkisini de dikkate almaya doğru genişletmeleri gerekip gerekmediğinin incelenmesini içeren kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk kavramını tanıtmaktadır. Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluğu uygulamak, bir şirketin iş hedeflerini toplumsal beklentilerle birleştirmesini gerektirir. Bunu yapmak, şu gibi karmaşık soruları ele almak anlamına gelir: İşletmelerin faaliyet gösterdikleri toplumlara karşı hangi yükümlülükleri vardır? Şirketlerin ve dış paydaşlarının çıkarları uyumlu olabilir mi yoksa içsel olarak çatışma halinde midirler? Bu ders, basit çözümler önermeden bu ve diğer soruları inceler.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
After completing this course, you should be able to:

1. Examine the scope and complexity of corporate social responsibility (CSR).
2. Demonstrate a multi-stakeholder perspective in viewing CSR issues.
3. Understand the role of the corporations in society
4. Analyze the connections between corporate strategy and CSR and the impact on foundational organizational principles such as mission and vision.
5. Compare and contrast the multiple viewpoints and tradeoffs that exist in the area of CSR.
6. Analyze the complex issues confronting organizational leaders as they develop their CSR programs.
7. Evaluate the level of commitment to CSR of various organizations and explain how it can be a source of competitive advantage.
8. Analyze the impact of CSR implementation on corporate culture, particularly as it relates to social issues.
9. Examine the sustainability, CSR reports and able to read and understand.
10. Ability to do asessments about CSR strategies of the companies.

Course Content

This course is about theory and practical working concepts in CSR exploring cases that demostrate the great potential of critical approach may have to improve communities in the world, and to create awareness of potential pitfalls.

Why it is important for CSR Look at the website of the companies and download CSR report to your computer which is one of the company that you are interested to investigate and check how they define their CSR? Write CSR examples.
2) Definition of CSR - What are the human rights according to GRI Visit GRI web site https://www.globalreporting.org/standards/standards-development/topic-standard-project-for-human-rights/ - Define GRI what is the role, Why GRI is important for defining CSR stretegies
3) Sustainability for Business UN sustainable development goals Check the web site https://sdgs.un.org/goals/ - Analyze 17 Sustainable development goals from the web site and write 17 of them and write your opinion about each goa
4) Unsustainable Corporate Practice - Where Do Companies Go Wrong? & Managing for the Long-Term Write down 3 unsustainable strategies of your company
5) Intersection of ethics and economics -How could ethics matter to economics? Sustainable economy and future that the world wants. -Can ethics build an economy?
6) Environmental and Social Trends - Information about COP26 -UN Climate Change Conference - What is organizational influence?
7) Sustainability Reporting and Certification Standards - How each corporation process these standards Each student will choose their company from the list (Fortune 500) that they will do for their projects
8) Midterm Exam
9) Customers and sustainability - In class we will discuss about the man threats to the environment and how serious are they? Analyse customer stakeholders.
10) Employees and sustainability - Who are the employees? Why are they important? What are the benefits? Analyse employee stakeholders.
11) Government and lobbying - What is the influence of Government towards companies Describes the influences of Government on company
12) CSR and supply chain relationship - What is the global standards for supply chain? Examples from following areas: outsourcing, working standards & conditions, workplace diversity and equal opportunity, child labour, human rights.
13) Environmental Responsibility -Policies for sustainable environment as a stakeholder - Why environment become one of the most urgent stakeholders?
14) Society, Philanthropic projects and NGOs - Relationship with the society through community projects - understanding, evaluating, and interpreting companies projects.
