Course Objectives: To study basic concepts of phrasing and musical forms in simple forms.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1- Has complete theoretical background on theoretical concepts.
2- Able to identify basic concepts related with triadic chords and tonal scales.
3- Can identify tonal scales aurally.
4- Can conduct dictation on tonal scales (without modulation) up to 2 parts.

Course Content

Aural training, sight reading, score reading, theory, dictation.

4) Major, minor, defective and surplus chords with 3 / Reading pieces
5) Rhythmic clef reading pieces on G and F Keys.
6) Rhythmic clef reading pieces on G and F Keys.
7) Dictation.
8) Sing and Play exercises.
9) Midterm
10) Polyphonic Reading Pieces
11) Links of I-IV, IV-I, I-V, V-I and IV-V on four parts writing.
12) Links of I-IV, IV-I, I-V, V-I and IV-V on four parts writing.
13) Leaping on links of basic chords with 3 and their shootings on four parts, Dominant 7 and links of its shootings , Bass and chant harmonizations.
14) Simple Dual Voice Dictation
