Course Objectives: | This course aims to introduce the student with the basic concepts related to retailing; dynamics of retailing, internal and external environmental factors affecting retail management; digital channels and brand management in retail, customer relationship management, product placement and visual merchandising, marketplace, category management process, sales and service through different channels (omnichannel), store atmosphere, retail sales techniques, supply chain, logistics management and warehouse management. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon completion of the course, the students will learn: ● What it means to be a Home Improvement Retailer, ● The present and future of the retail industry, ● The external and internal environmental factors affecting retail management, ● Digital channels and brand management in retail, ● Managerial functions in retail management including HRM, marketing, IT, finance and supply chain. |
The teaching methods of the course are Guest Speaker, Lecture, Reading, Observation, Discussion, Field Trip, Individual Study. Fundemantals of retail, the dynamics of home improvement retailing , internal and external environmental factors affecting retail management, brand management, customer relationship management, product placement and visual editing, category management process, sales and service from different channels (omnichannel), store atmosphere, retailing techniques, supply chain, logistics management and warehouse management. |
