6)Applies physiotherapy plans for Obstetric Brachial Plexus Injuries,Torticollis,Spina Bifida

Course Content

This course provides the student with the information related to pediatric physiotherapy including cerebral palsy, obstetric brachial plexus injuries, torticallis, orthpeadic problems.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents

1) Intruduction to Pediatric Physiotherapy .Neural Organisation and Movement, What makes a child move? .Motor control,Motor Learning from theories to practise.
2) Motor control and basic principles of Motor Learning .Neural Plasticity .Sensory Motor Integration .Video show,practice
3) Mechanisims of Postural Control in children with motor delay .Developmental level and reflex reactions in the normal child .Pathologic motor and reflex reactions in Cerebral Palsy .Developmental progress of sitting,standing,walking,prone&supine position
4) .Assessment of the neonates at high risk .Early mobilisation,Positioning and Techniques for carriying the child correctly and femaly education .Video show and motion analysis for preterm newborns
5) .Comman factors that effect in CP and similar movement disorders .Etiology,Classification causes of Cerebral palsy. .Bobath approach,Neurodevelopmental Treatment
6) .Assessments methods in Cerebral Palsy .GMFM,GMFCS,MACS .Bobath approach,
7) .Orthopedic Problems in Cerebral Palsy .Physical & Orthopedic examination .Causes of deformities and aims of therapy and manegement. .Physical therapy interventions,Prevention,Medical therapy,Botox applications, Surgery
