| The aims of the Sociology PhD Programme are to enable students to comprehend multidimensional social processes, to equip students with the necessary theoretical knowledge in order to acquire the ability to find answers to social problems, to provide students with the research methods and techniques in social sciences necessary for solving social problems by updating them with new developments, to encourage studies in different fields of sociology in line with these objectives, to gain historical sociology infrastructure to understand today's processes and to comprehend social changes from a historical perspective, to include both theoretical and empirical studies with examples from different parts of Turkey and the world. In this direction, to carry out scientific studies in various fields of sociology and to train qualified researchers and academician candidates are the aims of the PhD Programme of the Department of Sociology. |
