| The main purpose of The Department of English Language Teaching is to raise teachers who have acquired an advanced level of English proficiency as well as a high level of understanding of the knowledge and skills required for the language education field. The department also aims to create lifelong learners: faculty members aim to equip students with the skills to undertake research projects that will improve their practical and theoretical teaching situations; they will learn to adjust to changing needs and demands as they arise throughout their teaching careers. The undergraduate program consists of courses that contribute to the goal of instilling prospective teachers with both theoretical and practical abilities. These courses address relevant topics such as methods in foreign language education, teaching language skills, the use of technology in language teaching, and teaching application courses in certain schools. Furthermore, the students have the opportunity to improve themselves in terms of the social, cultural and professional issues that concern them specifically through general elective, departmental elective, and non-departmental elective courses. |
