Course Objectives: Same with New Media Project I course, the aim of this NMD4002 is to guide the students of New Media Department within the scope of their graduation projects that they will prepare and present under the supervision of their advisors, and to make them gain the work discipline which will be expected from them when they step into business life.

The project may be produced as*,

1) a blog with content such as news story w/ photography, multimedia news story, and documentary news,
2) a research paper that meets academic standards.

* For the rest of this information package: Please keep in mind that "1" addresses to the ones who pick "blog" as their graduation project, and "2" addresses to the ones who pick "research paper" instead.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1)
- are able to develop a subject or topic for new media projects,
- are able to define and solve the technical and conceptual problems they’ll face during a project period,
- gain experience in connecting the sources, interviewing, collecting data, using the right technology for the right topic,
- gain experience in technical details such as using the camera, recorder, microphone, and computer assisted editing tools.

2)
- are able to determine the research topic for an academic study,
- are able to pick the appropriate research method to answer a specific research question,
- learn about concepts such as literature review, decent/appropriate referencing,
- gain the competence to continue their education with graduate studies (MA) if they plan to.

Course Content

Students will meet regularly with their academic advisors in order to plan and produce their projects. There will be 3 deadlines for 3 different stages of the graduation project, and a final jury with participation of all the professors of BAU New Media to evaluate the final work.
