Course Objectives: This course provides students with a theoretical and practical framework that enables them to understand the sociological, psychological, and legal dimensions of victimhood. Students will examine key concepts related to victimhood, the position of crime victims within social structures, the processes of victimization, and the pursuit of justice by victims in society. The course also aims to develop students' research skills on topics such as victim rights, victim support systems, and the development of victim-centered policies.

The students who have succeeded in this course;
The course on Victimology aims to help students understand the phenomenon of victimization from a sociological perspective. In this course, students will explore the definition of victimization, its historical development, and its social dimensions. Additionally, the course will cover how victims interact with social, economic, and cultural factors, the different types of victimization (e.g., individual, social, structural victimization), and theoretical approaches to victims. Students will also develop insights on the role of victimization in crime prevention, its place in the justice system, and the effects of social reactions on victims.
