Course Objectives: Identification and evaluation of children's rights with an interdisciplinary approach.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
At the end of the course, you will be able to:

1. Knows the definition of the child under international law and has knowledge about specifict regulations concerning the protection of the child in peacetime and in war.
2. Knows the basic principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Knows the basic concepts of children's rights in the digital world and comprehends the importance of possible violations of children's rights in the age equipped with information technologies.
3. Students will gain the ability to apply to related Turkish Administrative Entities and bring lawsuits before administrative courts regarding children's rights.
4. Gains knowledge of the status of children in the criminal justice system, in this sense, the concepts of delinquencey of children and victimized child and how the judicial proceedings related to children are carried out in terms of criminal procedure law.
5. Knows the child's capacity of rights and capacity to act, can apply to the concrete case. Knows and can explain the rights and obligations of the child regarding paternity. In terms of inheritance law, knows and can apply the precautions that protect the child.
6. The law that will be applied in disputes with foreign elements related to children is learned. The status of the child in the international arena is comprehended through foreign court decisions and international agreements. Gains knowledge on how foreign children can acquire Turkish citizenship and residence permits in Turkey.
7. "Defines the concept of ""child labor"" by comparing various international documents, especially Conventions No. 138 and 182 of the International Labor Organization and Turkish Labor Law legislation.
Within the struggling against child labor, ILO, UNICEF, UN, etc. will have information about the activities, actions, and programs adopted by international organizations and our country.
Gains basic legal knowledge about working children's legal status, rights, and obligations. From various perspectives, examine the social and legal protection provided to children under Turkish Social Security Law.
8. Determines how to use the child's capacity to sue and how to represent the child in the proceedings related to juvenile law.
Explains the scope and limits of the child's right to be heard in private law proceedings and how to ensure this right.
Evaluates how the judgments and injunctions regarding the delivery of the child and the establishment of a personal relationship with the child will be executed."
