Course Objectives: | Improving the experience of 4th year students in clinical application. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon succesfull completion of this course student will be able to; -Perform phase 1 periodontal treatment. -Learn about the criteria of healthy and disesed periodontal tissues -Learn about the principles of assisting during periodontal surgery -Diş hekimliğinde kullanılan radyografi tekniklerini değerlendirebilir -Evaluate the dental radiographic techniques -Describe both intraoral and extraoral radiography techniques -Take X-rays -Evaluate periaphical and panoramic X-rays -Discuss the pros and cons of radyographies -Analyze the radiographic basic matters of dental lesions -Evaluate the advanced graphical techniques used in dentistry -Differentiate cases necessitates advanced graphical techniques -Learn the biological effects of radiation and pays attention on protecting the patient, him/herself and environment from harmful effects of radiation -Learn how to record the medical history of the patients -Learn the necessary treatment modifications before, during, and after oral surgical treatments in medically compromised patients -Learn the oral surgical instruments -Learn the professional knowledge about tooth extraction, associated complications and their treatment modalities -Learn the fundamental surgical techniques about impacted tooth surgery -Learn professional knowledge about post-operative maintenance -Use amalgam and composite filling materials with extracted human teeth and fantom teeth -Understand the dental structures on extracted teeth -Explain Developmental disorders of teeth -Learn the factors of caries lesions and to understand the relationship between the factors of caries -Learn the findings of amalgam and composite fillings. -Understand the fundamentals of adhesion principles -Get the knowledge of the basics of craniofacial development -Learn about normal development of deciduous, mixed and permanent dentitions and ideal occlusion -Learn the reasons that lead to orthodontic anomalies -Recognize the deviations from the normal in dentoskeletal structures -Be able to arrange dental treatment methods in children -Describe dental management during development -The two modules of dentures and prinicples of preparation: how to apply it correctly to complex cases such as preparation, temporary crown restorations, retraction and impression.Learns the stages of total prosthesis construction. |
Performing clinical practices with faculty members and research assistants of the Department of Periodontology, Oral Diagnose and Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics Orthodontics and Pedodontics. |
