Course Objectives: The primary purpose of this course is to increase the familiarity and awareness of the students by spending time with the development process of the art of theater in our country throughout the semester. Thus, it is aimed to recognize our theater art in all its lines from the beginning to the present day in Turkey. The birth and development of the art of theater in Turkey, the recognition of the artists and their movements that shape the periods, learning the basic theater terms and watching the plays and discussing them with the class constitute the main objectives of the course.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1- The awareness of the students about the art of theater in Turkey will be developed.
2- Students will increase their general knowledge of Turkish theater art.
3- Students will have information about the basic types of theater.
4- Students will learn how the theater emerged and developed in Turkey.
5- Students will master the important playwrights and their works of certain periods.
6- Students will understand how the games are affected by the conditions of the period.

Course Content

The content of the course will be formed by examining the development of the art of theater in Turkey in the historical context and reinforcing the theoretical knowledge with various performances.
