Course Objectives: The goal of this course is to provide students with the necessary know-how and skills regarding advertising production with a special focus on TV.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Acquire the skills to manage the production process of an advertisement.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of advertising production terms and terminology.
3. Develop awareness about the legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of advertising production.
4. Develop skills to work in a team environment.

Course Content

This course focuses on the production aspects of advertising and offers students the opportunity to develop advertisements and manage the production process.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents

1) Introduction to Film Production - Production Chart and Flow
2) Introducing the film crew: 1- Who is who? 2- What they do?
3) The ways of doing the right casting. Field research for the casting of the final project.
4) Importance of location: - How to find the right location? Field research for the location of the final project.
5) Art Department (Styling, Set Decoration and built, Wardrobe, Accessories)
6) Choosing the camera and lighting equipment and the crew.
7) Catering, transportation and logistics of film production.
8) Time plan and scenario breakdown: - Balancing the outdoor/indoor shootings and also day/night.
9) Effective budgeting: - Budget breakdown - Estimating the budget Homework assignment 1
10) Preparing for PPM (Pre Production Meeting) and presentation
11) Post Production steps: - Introducing the post-production companies and equipments. Homework assignment 2
12) Off-line and online post production steps.
13) Sound design: - Choosing the music and sound effects. - Dubbing and mixing.
14) Shooting of the commercial.
