Course Objectives: | Main objective of the course is giving general information about railway system engineering, infrastructure and superstructure systems and their functions, technical terminology of railway systems engineering. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Course learning outcomes are: -Technical terminology about railway systems -Pull mechanics in railway vehicles -Line parameters -Railway infrastructure -Railway vehicles and components -Railway electrification and signalization -Railway system vehicles dynamics and control |
The aim of the course is to introduce the poject components for railway systems and to idetify the relationships between these components and demonstrate through applications. Selection of project standards for railway systems; traffic calculations; selection of pulling and being pulled vehicles and train formation; route investigation; geometric and physical design of the railway; components of traffic control systems and corresponding calculations; calculations for project costs. |
