Course Objectives: | This course aims to examine the fundamental principles of family and child law, national and international legislation, child rights conventions, and protective and preventive legal mechanisms. It will also address the legal and social implications of issues such as divorce, custody, alimony, and adoption. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Explain the fundamental concepts of family and child law. Analyze family relationships within the framework of Turkish Civil Law. Interpret international child rights conventions (UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Lanzarote Convention, Istanbul Convention). Describe the child protection system and inter-institutional functioning. Evaluate legal processes related to divorce, custody, alimony, and adoption. Identify legal obligations in cases of child abuse and neglect. Analyze practices related to the protection and rights of children within the child justice system. |
