Course Objectives: | In this course, existing, constructing and planning railway projects, construction methods of railway projects, usage materials and equipments are investigated with current examples. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; This course gives integrated information with 'Railways' course in licence programmes and 'Urban Railway Systems' in master programmes. |
The aim of the course is to introduce the poject components for railway systems and to idetify the relationships between these components and demonstrate through applications. Selection of project standards for railway systems; traffic calculations; selection of pulling and being pulled vehicles and train formation; route investigation; geometric and physical design of the railway; components of traffic control systems and corresponding calculations; calculations for project costs. |
