Course Objectives: This course aims to teach the master students understand and interpret the city as a social, economic, administrative structure and helps them to understand the legal framework of the city.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
Giving detailed information about:

Transformations of urban policies from the past to today in our country and the effects of these transformations to the legal and administrative structure and the city will be discussed in a chronological approach.

Course Content

In the context of this course planning authorization, hierarchy of plans, technical and social infrastructure, plan application tools, ownership rights, legislations on urban preservation, slum dwellings, and shores, directives for unplanned areas will be studied. Moreover legislations on specific environmental preservation reagions, touristic, industrial, agricultural areas, watersheds, forests, hunting areas, fisheries, state parks and natural disaster areas will be explored and the issues arising from the application of the corresponding directives and legislations will be discussed.
