MECHATRONICS (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

It is aimed to train technicians who are aware of the systems and hardwares which comprises electric, analog-digital electronics, micro computers and automation, and knows the features of them who can implement their knowledge in to the industrial systems and hardware, and ability to do maintenance and knows how to use programmable devices.

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of MECHATRONICS TECHNICIAN

Level of Qualification

This is a Associate (Short Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

They are regulated by "Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM)" according to the principles determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).(Technical Vocational High School students are accepted from the related fields)

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Mechatronics Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be exempted from some courses based on certain regulations. If any courses taken at another institution are equivalent to the normally required course content and are approved by the department, students may be exempted from these courses.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Mechatronics program had aimed at providing students with the knowledge, skills and competences, which is required for within the authority according to the instructions related with mechatronic product and mechatronic production systems, defined project management, defined cellular installation, testing and acceptance procedures, relocation, maintenance, repair and overhaul design, by taking occupational health and safety measures, in accordance with environmental protection and quality management system documentation, in the areas of the produced and/or used Mechatronic product and Mechatronic manufacturing systems. When students graduated, they will have the knowledge and skills about mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, software required to fulfill these tasks.

Access to Further Studies

Graduate students having successully completed their pre-Bsc degree can pass vertially to a Bsc degree program in departments of; 1. Computer and Control Teaching 2. Electrical Engineering 3. Electrical Teaching 4. Electric-Electronic Engineering 5. Electronic Engineering 6. Electronic Teaching 7. Electronic and Computer Teaching 8. Electronics and Communications Engineering 9. Electronics and Communications Teaching 10. Manufacturing Engineering 11. Control Engineering 12. Mechanical Engineering 13. Mechatronics Engineering 14. Mechatronics Teaching 15. Design and Construction Teaching 16. Aerospace Engineering 17. Manufacturing Engineering in condition that they get enough points at DGS (Vertical Passage Exam) organised by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

Program Outcomes

1 To improve fundamental computer knowledge, to encourage students using office and package programs.
2 Ability to have and use of fundamental mathematics knowledge and skills the usage of relevant materials.
3 Ability to recognize general structures of machine equipments and the features of shaping
4 Ability to grasp manufacturing processes and cutting tool materials, materials, statics, mechanics and fluid science fundemantal knowledge.
5 Ability to draw assembly and auxilary devices as well as to draw whole or details of a system.
6 Ability to have a knowledge of fundemantal manufacturing process such as turning, milling, punching,grinding and welding techniques and to have a self esteem in order to work behind the bench.
7 Ability to do computer aided design and write program on digital benches.
8 Ability to prepare project report, follow up project process and implement projects.
9 ability to learn the areas of usage of electronic circuit components. Ability to grasp and write programs for micro controllers and for their components. Ability to design relevant circuits.
10 Ability to understand the electric motors principles and AC-DC analysis
11 Ability to gain a dominaion on visual programming
12 Having the ability to communicate efficiently in verbal and written Turkish, to know at least one foreign language in order to communicate with the colleagues and customers.
