COMPUTER PROGRAMMING (TURKISH)


Profile of the Program

The aim of this program is to educate students to become computer technicians who are aware of ethical issues, following developments about technology around the world, have working discipline and believe in the importance of life time education with good knowledge of computer programming, web design, hardware technologies and database management system

Qualification Awarded

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of PROGRAMMER

Level of Qualification

This is a Associate (Short Cycle) program.

Specific Admission Requirements

They are regulated by “Measurment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM)” according to the principles determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).(Techical Vocational High School students are accepted from the related fields)

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

In order to get pre-Bsc degree at Computer Programming Program, the total of compulsory and elective hours of the lessons must be the equivalent of 120 ECTS and fully succeeded. The cumulative grade point average must be at least 2.0 out 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be exempted from some courses based on certain regulations. If any courses taken at another institution are equivalent to the normally required course content and are approved by the department, students may be exempted from these courses.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of Computer Programming, can work in the appropriate fields which their respective areas of public and private sector organizations (computer programmer, web design, hardware, network)

Access to Further Studies

Graduate students having successully completed their pre-Bsc degree can pass vertially to a Bsc degree program in departments of Computer Teaching Computer Systems Teaching Computer Technologies and Information Systems Computer and Information Systems Computer and Control Teaching Teacher Training Computer and Instructional Technologies Computer-Informatics Information Systems Engineering Information Systems and Technologies Teacher Training Elektronics and Computer Information Systems Physics Statistics statistics and Computer Science Control Engineering Meteorological Engineering Applied Mathematics and Computer Space Engineering Software Engineering in condition that they get enough points at DGS (Vertical Passage Exam) organised by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

Program Outcomes

1 Students will have knowledge of fundemantals of mathemetaics and phsics
2 Students will have konowledge of relevant software and hardware requirements in the office environment
3 Having the ability to define and explain the fundemental concepts, principles and essentilas of software and having the ability to develop software.
4 Having the ability to use tools, machines and having the ability to recognize and diagnose problems in the related computer fields.
5 Having the ability to communicate efficiently in verbal and written Turkish, to know at least one foreign language in order to communicate with the colleagues and customers.
6 Having the ability to setup,diagnose and maintanance of databases
7 Having the ability to design graphical animations for desktop applications and internet programming.
8 Having the ability to develop and control internet projects
9 Having the ability to develop group projects, team work, software and hardware projects
10 Having the ability to set up,diagnose operating systems and network systems
