Profile of the Program

Bahçeşehir University Nutrition and Dietetics Thesis Master's Program is an educational program that aims to provide in-depth knowledge and skills in the fields of nutritional sciences and dietetics in order to improve the health of individuals. Within the scope of this program, students are provided with the competence to develop nutritional strategies for healthy living, disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. In addition, students are aimed to specialize in various fields such as clinical, community health and sports nutrition. Students can follow innovations in the field of nutrition and dietetics using scientific research methods and develop their professional practices in the field of health.

The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Bachelor of NUTRITION AND DIETETICS (TURKISH, THESIS)

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to apply for a master's program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and meet other basic program-specific requirements to be determined by the Institute Board. In addition, students applying to thesis programs must have an ALES score of no less than 55 points, as determined by the Institute Board in the score type they are applying for. The foreign language proficiency levels of candidates applying to master's programs conducted in a foreign language are determined according to the results of central foreign language exams accepted by YÖK, international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by YÖK or ÖSYM, or the University English Proficiency Exam.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The master's program with thesis consists of a total of 24 credits and 120 ECTS. Students must be successful in 8 courses consisting of compulsory and elective courses in the curriculum and Thesis 1 - Seminar and Thesis 2 courses. In order to graduate from this program, it is necessary to successfully complete all the courses in the program and to have a weighted grade point average of at least 3.00 out of 4.00.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who will continue their education at Bahçeşehir University may be exempted from the courses they took at their previous educational institution within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken is compatible with the content of the course given at BAU and is approved by the institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this course.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Our students who choose the Nutrition and Dietetics master's program have the opportunity to work in many areas, such as public and private health institutions at different levels, rehabilitation centers, outpatient diagnosis and treatment centers, centers providing education and consultancy services, organizations providing home care services, sports centers, and non-governmental organizations carrying out health projects, after completing their education process.

Access to Further Studies

Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in doctoral programs.

6 To take responsibility and participate in the processes actively for training of other dieticians, education of health professionals and individuals about nutrition.
7 To assess nutritional status of risky groups in nutrition related problems (pregnant, babies, adolescences, elders, etc.)
8 To communicate effectively with advisee, colleagues for effective professional relationships.
9 To use healthcare, information technologies for Nutrition and Dietetic practice and research.
10 To be able to search for literature in health sciences databases and information sources to access to information and use the information effectively.
11 To be able to monitor occupational information using at least one foreign language, to collaborate and communicate with colleagues at international level.
12 To carry out dietetic practices considering cultural differences and different health needs of different groups in the community.
