Course Objectives: This course focuses on HTML5 and related web technologies such as CSS3, JavaScript(ECMAScript 5). Many popular key technologies will be covered within this course. Main objective is demonstrating these key web technologies to students and teaching application development on web platform.

1. Define and analyse HTML5 and its features
2. Define and analyse CSS3 and its features
3. Define JavaScript and describe scripting
4. Define and analyse database operations in web platform
5. Define and analyse the PHP language
6. Define and analyse the ASP.NET web development with C# language
7. Develop web services

Course Content

The course content is composed of html5, css, javascript, javascript: control statements and functions, javascript: arrays and objects, javascript: event handling, database: sql, mysql, linq and java db, php, asp.net, asp.net: a deeper look, developing web services.

1) Introduction to HTML5: Headings, linksi listsi special characters, tables, forms, meta elements.
2) Introduction to HTML5: New form elements, page structure elements.
3) Introduction to CSS: Style sheel elements, positioning elements, box model, text flow, transitions and transformations.
4) Introduction to JavaScript: Language basics, creating dynamic content, memory concepts, arithmetic.
5) JavaScript: Control structures, loops, functions.
6) JavaScript: Arrays, reference parameters, passing arrays to functions, Math object, String object, Date object, document object.
7) Javascript / Midterm I
8) JavaScript: Event handling, frequently used events.
9) Database: SQL statements, MySQL, LINQ and Java DB
10) PHP: Language basis, form processing.
11) ASP.NET: Language basis, form processing.
12) ASP.NET / Midterm II
13) ASP.NET: Web page templates, Ajax.
14) Developing web services, SOAP, REST, JSON.
