Course Objectives: The course targets improving and extending in-depth knowledge of a PhD student in the areas related to his/her thesis topic by means of one-to-one study with the student’s thesis supervisor.
In the proposed course, during the class hours the student and his/her thesis supervisor will discuss scientific papers related to the thesis topic, and therefore the supervisor will not fulfill a regular teaching activity, but instead will provide scientific guidance to the student.

1. Define and construct a research topic
2. Describe ways to perform efficient literature search
3. Apply literature review
4. Identify the gap in the literature
5. Construct comparisons of the state-of-the-art methods researched
6. Show written skills to realize a survey report
