Course Objectives: The historical development of the definition of sport, purpose of sport, its sociological role, economic structure, its components and the sport ecosystem.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
In this course the students:
1- Learns the definitions of sport and what activities are considered sport.
2- Investigates sport in terms of evolutionary psychology, and its relation to religious rituels.
3- Defines the activities that accompany sport.
4- Investigates the sport in civilizations throughout the history.
5- Discusses the relation between sport and philosophy, psychology and sociology.
6- Defines the components of modern sport (sport ecosystem).
