Course Objectives: | The objective of this course * to introduce the students to Women’s Studies where they will explore gender as a variable that explains socio-economic status of women in the world that we live in. * to give them a clear understanding of the major movements of feminist thought and related areas of the body of knowledge making up the field of Women's Studies. |
The students who have succeeded in this course; Students who complete this course will: * integrate and compare knowledge from this course with other literature courses * learn the terminology related to feminist studies • learn about key feminist theorist and critics • learn about feminist literary criticism and other related schools of criticism • learn to analyse literary texts from a feminist point of view |
