Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable the student to master the main aspects of design, composition, perception and content in black-and-white photography.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1. Recognize advance use of compositional elements.
2. Improve efficiency in solving problems related to photographic practices.
3. Analyze various use of photographic medium in different styles and genres.
4. Apply visual elements in different contexts.
5. Gain ability to create ideas for photographic practices.

Course Content

This course explores, on an intermediate level, the techniques of exposure, development and printing of small- and medium-format black-and-white film and printing materials, with special emphasis on tonal control and through creative applications.

3) Criticizing the works and taking photographs of people. Assignment 1: Life in the university.

5) Criticizing the works. Assignment 3: Portraiture.
6) Close up photography. Assignment 4: News photo.
7) Criticizing the works. Assignment 5: Poetic close-up.
8) Different styles in photography. Assignment 6: Freezing the moment.
9) Criticizing the works. Assignment 7: Selective focusing
10) Developing a project. Final Assignment 1: Abstract depiction.
